Etappenbeschreibung von Schwarzwald-Tourismus:

Der Schwarzwald-Hauptkamm ruft! Über Badener Höhe und Hochkopf taucht der Westweg auf seiner dritten Etappe endgültig in die hohen Regionen des Nordschwarzwalds ein. Das Klima wird spürbar rauer, die Berge steiler und die Wege knorriger – entlang der Schwarzwaldhochstraße kommt der Westweg in Topform.

Von der über die Murg führenden historischen Holzbrücke verläuft der Westweg kerzengerade durch die Forbacher Altstadt zur Bundesstraße, überquert diese und steigt durch eines der romantisch-stillen Heuhüttentäler aufwärts. Kaum haben wir das Städtchen hinter uns gelassen, werden unsere Beine den ersten 450 m Anstieg zu überwinden haben. Doch schon bald können wir unseren müden Waden bei einem eiskalten Fußbad an der Schwarzenbach-Talsperre eine Entspannung gönnen. Wenn die Füße wieder fit sind, steht der Anstieg am Herrenwieser See an. 350 weitere Höhenmeter machen den langen Aufstieg aus dem Murgtal bis auf die ersten „Tausender“ des Nordschwarzwalds perfekt. Vorbei geht es an Badener Höhe und „Kurhaus Sand“, bevor uns der Westweg über einen letzten Anstieg auf den Hochkopf führt und uns zum Abschluss des Tages durch Hochmoore zum ehemaligen Kurhaus Unterstmatt geleitet.

Meine Eindrücke:

Diese Etappe ist insgesamt wirklich ein erstes Highlight mit viel Fernsicht und wechselnden Landschaften.

Ich breche kurz nach 7:30 auf und wandere über die legendäre Holzbrücke (wirklich eine beeindruckende Handwerkskunst).

Dann geht es steil bergauf und man ist froh, wenn man den ersten Höhenzug erreicht hat. Einkehrmöglichkeiten, dass werde ich aber erst nach und nach herausfinden, gibt es keine einzige, jedenfalls keine, die geöffnet hat.

So bleibe ich den ganzen Tag Selbstversorger.

Die Highlights der Tour sind sicherlich der Schwarzenbachstausee und die Badener Höhe mit einem tollen Fernblick.

Die Länge der Tour war endlich einmal so bemessen, dass ich sie als eine angenehme Tagestour empfunden habe und nicht völlig erschöpft im Hotel ankam.

Mal sehen wie es mir morgen ergeht, denn abgesehen mal von den 29 Kilometern auf dem Westweg ist das Zielhotel noch rund 2,5 Kilometer vom Weg entfernt. Voraussichtliche Wanderzeit: 8-9 Stunden (!) natürlich wie immer gerechnet ohne Pause (die ich brauchen werde).
